SBA backed loans to fund your export sales
In this session, we will introduce the three primary SBA international loan programs: Export Working Capital, Export Express, and International Trade Loans, and will consider the merits of each for various situations. This session should help you understand which loan program is appropriate to your needs, and what rules and parameters govern each type of loan guarantee.
Ray Gibeau, who teaches this session, recently retired as SBA Export Finance Officer, US Export Assistance Center, Atlanta. He managed SBA export finance programs for more than 18 years. After a brief stay with Chevron Chemical as a cost accountant, he joined SBA in early 1972 in Des Moines, Iowa as a Finance Loan Officer. Ray transferred to Atlanta in 1975 and spent ten years as Chief of the Portfolio Management Division responsible for a one billion dollar portfolio. He joined the International Trade Division of SBA in 1995 as the Export Finance Officer in Atlanta, responsible for counseling exporters on their financing needs and processing and approving loan guarantee requests in Alabama, Mississippi, North Florida, and Georgia.
